Fuzzibunz

Well for Charlie we decided to do cloth diapers and I LOVE THEM! We started out using g-diapers with cloth liners. Which we liked because they are not bulky and if he pees we can just replace the liner not the whole diaper but they come in sm, med, and lrg and we wanted a diaper that would fit him from birth to potty training so we decided to try fuzzibunz and bumgenius. They both work well but bumgenius tends to be bulky and it is hard to get clothing on. We adore the fuzzibunz. They are super soft and cute and not bulky at all. I thought the cleaning process would be awful and we would give up shortly after starting to use them but it is just the opposite. They are easy to clean and we are sticking to it. They also have prevented diaper rash and poop blowouts which is awesome. Chase even likes them which is huge since he is staying home with Charlie and has to deal with them all day.

Charlie- 11 weeks

I can't believe Charlie is almost 3 months. Ever since I went back to work at the beginning of January, it seems like time flies and it makes me sad. I do however enjoy watching my two boys grow. Charlie right now is so fascinated with his big brother. If Mason is in the room and especially if Mason talks, Charlie will sit there and stare at him as if in amazement. I mean Mason is a pretty fascinating guy but to his brother there is no one cooler! Charlie is holding his head up really well now and will roll from stomach to back. It is amazing how quickly they learn. He is also so alert. He barely sleeps during the day and is always wide eyed looking at everything around him. He sleeps pretty well at night. If I would make myself get out of the bed to feed him a full meal, he would only wake up once but instead I am dead tired from work and mommyhood so I feed him in bed and usually fall asleep before he gets a full meal so we generally toss and turn from 3:30am to 7am. I am getting better though. At his 2 month check-up he was 12.3 lbs and perfectly healthy. He got 3 shots and lets just say I was extremely broken hearted even more so than when Mason got his because Charlie has the sweetest cry. It is not irritating at all like most babies. It is a sweet cry and he always pokes his bottom lip out and that makes it even more heartbreaking. We have enjoyed getting to know our little Charlie over the past 11 weeks and can't wait to see what he does next!

Snow hits Memphis

We had our first snow fall at the beginning of January and Mason LOVED it! He refused to come inside and when he finally did, his nose was bright red, his fingers and toes were frozen solid, and he striped down and crawled on the couch with me to cuddle under a blanket (I had stayed nice and warm inside with Charlie!). Poor Chase had to go out into the freezing cold to play but I don't really think he minded too much =)

Christmas 2010

We had a wonderful Christmas this year. We stayed at home so Mason could be in his own house when Santa Claus came to see him. This was the first year that Mason actually got the concept of Santa and it made Christmas time so much more fun and exciting. We had the elf on the shelf (who Mason named Fred) come join us this season. Every morning Mason would find that Fred had not only gone and visited Santa the night before but also had gotten into mischief (like eating daddy's twizzlers, or stealing Mason's shoes or climbing up the tree, etc.). Mason loved it and would jump out of bed every morning to see what Fred was up to. We spent Christmas eve with my side of the family in Memphis, Christmas day at our own house, and the Monday after Christmas traveled up to Knoxville to visit Chase's family and have a second Christmas with them. We were busy, especially with having a newborn at home (which was the best Christmas gift Chase and I received!), but we loved every minute of it.

Mason's First Christmas Program

Mason was in his first Christmas program this past December. It was put on by his daycare and was the most precious thing I have ever seen. His class sang 3 songs and danced along with the songs. I am afraid Mason had some stage fright however. He kept closing his eyes and putting his hands over his face. We thought his eyes were bothering him but it turns out he was just a little scared and embarrassed. He was of course precious though and Chase and I enjoyed it very much.

My Main Man

Mason has been the best big brother for the past almost 3 months. He is so caring and always trys to make Charlie happy. He is constantly sharing with Charlie and placing blankets on him to keep him warm and he always makes sure he has something to play with. He has acted like such a grown up little boy that I sometimes forget he is only 2 and a half! He will always be my baby though and I have more love for him than I could ever describe.

Our Big Arrival

On November 7, 2010 after a very short labor and delivery process (contractions started at 12:30am and delivery was at 2:59am), we welcomed our second child, Charles (Charlie) Joseph Malone. We were overcome with joy and have very much enjoyed becoming a family of four! All of the first couple of days pictures are on Chase's camera but here is one of our two precious boys.
